The primary goal of Don Bushnell Ministries (DBM) is to refresh, protect, and heal pastors from burnout. Our All-Expense Paid Pastors Respite Trips are exactly what the name communicates. They don’t cost a penny for pastors to attend. All they cost is time.
With the excuse of not having enough money to go on vacation eliminated, now it is up to each pastor to push through the excuse of not having enough time to go on vacation. If you struggle with this mindset, it is important to remember that Jesus taught His apostles that after fruitful times of ministry it is imperative to rest (Mark 6:7-13, 30-31). Pastors, I want to encourage you to slowdown and take the time to read this passage. (And, if you like Word Studies, take a closer look at the Present, Middle, Imperative Greek Verb that Jesus uses in verse 31 that is translated ‘Rest’.)

You might have noticed that Don Bushnell Ministries is partnering with Kingdom Works Fundraising. The reason for this partnership is to make sure we can take care of pastors and worship teams for much longer than the five years for which Don Bushnell Ministries has been endowed. As the name implies, Kingdom Works Fundraising is a Christian fundraising company that helps other organizations raise the funds they need through food-based fundraising. Kingdom Works Fundraising gives 100% of its after-tax profits to charities that build the kingdom of God, and Don Bushnell Ministries receives the majority of those funds.

Wisconsin Dells Summer Trip
Status: Gathering Interest - Summer 2024
For some pastors, Summer is the best time to take a break and recharge. The activity options on our Wisconsin Dells Summer Trip will include fishing, golfing, water skiing, and relaxing at a waterpark. We are open to adding additional options that you suggest.
Pastors, if you are interested in joining us, check your calendar, and let us know what dates you can commit to going on this trip. Once we have a core group of pastors (at least 4 or 5) who can attend during a mutually agreed upon window of time, we will lock in this trip.

Bass Fishing Trip (Alabama)
Status: Gathering Interest - Spring 2024
The bass are biting in Alabama. And, we have been encouraged by a local resident to come and fish.
Pastors, if you are interested in joining us, check your calendar, and let us know what dates you can commit to going on this trip. Once we have a core group of pastors (at least 4 or 5) who can attend during a mutually agreed upon window of time, we will lock in this trip.
Turtle Flambeau Flowage Men's Fishing Trip (Mercer, WI)
Status: Gathering Interest - Fall 2024
Deadhorse Lodge in Mercer, WI is a repeat location for our All-Expense Paid Pastors Respite Fishing Trip. This video will give you a feel for the cabin accommodations.
Status: Gathering Interest February 2025(Check-In Monday, Check-Out Friday)
Wisconsin Dells Winter Trip
When the weather outside is freezing. Some people like to bundle up and embrace the elements and others prefer to play indoors. Either way, we’ve got you covered with our Wisconsin Dells Winter Trip.
The activity options on this trip will include ice fishing, snow skiing, ATV (All-Terrain Vehicle) Tour in the snow, and relaxing at an indoor waterpark. We are open to adding additional options that you suggest.
Pastors, if you are interested in joining us, check your calendar, and let us know if you can commit to arriving on Monday, February 19 and departing on Friday, February 23. Once we have a core group of pastors (at least 4 or 5) who can attend during this window of time, we will lock in this trip. If this window of time does not work with your schedule, feel free to suggest a different window of time. We are open to the possibility of selecting a different window of time, if the current window doesn’t fill up.
