Pastors Respite Trip Survey

One of Don Bushnell Ministries primary goals is to refresh, protect, and heal Christian pastors/ministers from burnout. In 2024, we plan on taking 3 or 4 all-expense paid Pastors Respite Trips and inviting 5 to 10 pastors/ministers to join us on each trip. If you are a full-time or bi-vocational pastor/minister at a Christian church/ministry, you are eligible to be selected for a trip. If we select you to go on a trip, it will cost you nothing but time.

We would appreciate the assistance of pastors (and pastoral couples) who are interested in attending one of these trips. Please help us determine the timing and activities associated with each of these trips. Possible 2024 All-Expense Paid Trips:

Wisconsin Dells Winter Trip – January, February, or March – ice fishing, indoor water park, snow skiing, and/or ATV (All-Terrain Vehicle) Tour in the snow are the activities that we are currently considering.
Alabama Bass Fishing Trip – After Easter and before Memorial Day (all guy’s trip) – An Alabama resident has invited us to come and fish at his lake where the bass are biting.
Wisconsin Dells Summer Trip – fishing, water skiing, golfing, and/or Water Park are the activities that we are currently considering.
Turtle Flambeau Flowage (Northern, Wisconsin) – After Labor Day through mid-October – All guy’s Walleye Fishing Trip.

Again, with that background in mind, we would appreciate it if we could get some feedback from pastors/ministers, so we can understand how to better serve you with our trips.

Are you interested in attending an all guys, all gals, or couples trip?

How much advance notice do you need to take vacation time?

Are you more interested in taking a week-long vacation, or would you prefer to take a 3-day vacation because ministry, work, or family commitments make it difficult to take a full week off?

If you have enough advance notice to have all your church service responsibilities covered, are you willing to be out of town on a Sunday?

For the next two questions, if you are interested in a couples’ trip, please share your answer from both the perspective of the husband and the wife.

If you went on a warm-weather Pastors Respite, which of the following activities would you be most interested in doing (knowing that all your expenses will be covered): fishing, water skiing, golfing, water park? (Please list your preferences in rank order, and feel free to suggest other warm-weather activities you enjoy).

On a scale of 1 to 10, how interested are you in going on a cold-weather trip (1 = not very interested, 10 = very interested)?

On a scale of 1 to 10, how interested are you in going on a warm-weather trip (1 = not very interested, 10 = very interested)?

What time of the year is easiest for you to get away on vacation and what time of the year is most difficult for you to get away on vacation? For example, how available are you for a trip in
   • January, February, or March?
   • After Easter and before Memorial Day?
   • Between Memorial Day and Labor Day?
   • After Labor Day through mid-October?
