Transformation Prayer Ministry (or TPM for short) is a ministry that heals negative emotions that are associated with painful memories. It is based on the premise that many negative emotions we experience are connected to lie-based beliefs that entered in during a painful event in our past. If a person feels a negative emotion, then that person can remember all the details that formed the belief behind the emotion.
For this reason, the TPM Process asks a series of questions to find the lie-based belief behind this negative emotion. When you find a lie-based belief, the TPM Process invites you to present it to Jesus and ask Him what He wants you to know about it. When Jesus, who is full of grace and truth (John 1:14), speaks directly to you, transformation takes place. God’s kindness leads us to a new way of thinking (often called repentance – Romans 2:4) and His truth sets us free (John 8:32).
Transformation Prayer Ministry was developed by Dr Ed Smith and his son Joshua (www.TransformationPrayer.org). Don Bushnell Ministries offers TPM training (in-person and Zoom) as a free service to build the Kingdom of God. If you or your church have questions or are interested in signing up, please use our Contact Us page to get in touch with us.
* If you, your church, or organization asks us to travel to your location, we ask that you cover our travel expenses. If that creates a hardship, please let us know in advance, and it is possible that we might be able to cover those expenses ourselves.
Small or Large Group Training
Our small and large group training sessions are 6 hours long classroom-based sessions. These sessions can be held on a single day or spread across multiple days. (See the TPM Training Series videos below for an abbreviated version of what is covered in a training session.)
One-On-One Training
We also offer one-on-one training sessions (plus chaperone). In these training sessions, an individual who has gone through the TPM training (in-person or the videos included below) will do self-TPM with the help of a coach. The individual doing self-TPM will lead the process. This means:
- They will choose the subject they want to focus on,
- Tell their coach which TPM Box they are going to next,
- Read TPM questions out loud, so their coach knows where they are at in the process,
- And can ask their coach questions as needed.
For your first session or two of this type, it is wise to work on an area that you are comfortable being transparent and willing to share the answers to each question with your coach. This will allow your coach to best help you learn the process. The ultimate goal of this type of training is so that you can learn the TPM process well enough that later you can do self-TPM on issues that you are less comfortable sharing with others.
Mandatory Reporting
If you are working with a licensed minister in a training session, please know that they are Mandatory Reporters of Abuse and Neglect of Vulnerable Individuals*. This includes physical, sexual, emotional, and mental abuse, as well as neglect. If you venture into a subject that borders on abuse or neglect of a vulnerable individual, we reserve the right to inform you that we are going to begin recording the session. While specific legal requirements for mandatory reporting can vary by location, here is a general understanding of the subjects that would necessitate reporting within the Foursquare Church, which one of our ministers holds his credentials with Foursquare.
*Abuse and Neglect of Vulnerable Individuals
1. Child Abuse and Neglect
2. Elder Abuse and Neglect
3. Dependent Adult Abuse and Neglect
4. Clergy Misconduct: Abuse by a Credentialed Foursquare Minister: Foursquare emphasizes addressing instances where individuals have been harmed due to misconduct by a credentialed minister, which may include sexual misconduct and harassment.
Transformation Prayer Ministry - Training Series
In this Transformation Prayer Ministry teaching series, I will share with you the key lessons that helped me the most when I was first learning the TPM process. One of my main motivations for putting this video series together is because I was often overwhelmed by the abundance of videos I had to choose from when I would go out to Dr. Ed Smith’s website (www.TransformationPrayer.org).
Don’t get me wrong, they are good videos, but I often struggled to know which video might answer my current question. So, there were multiple times where I watched five or more videos to find the answer to a given question. So, as someone who loves to teach, and learned the TPM process from scratch, I want to share with you the key lessons that helped me to use the TPM process more effectively.
Transformation Prayer Ministry (TPM for short) is the most powerful ministry tool that I have come across. It’s made a profound difference in my life. For that reason, I consider myself blessed to work for a ministry that allows me to share it with others. Mark Rowe

Being confident in your ability to hear God’s voice is one of the most important skills during a Transformation Prayer Ministry (TPM) session. In this video, we will discuss how to tell the difference between God’s voice and the voice of the enemy. In addition, we will discuss a simply way to verify if the Lord spoke to us during a TPM session.

Of all our emotions, anger is the one that tends to derail a Transformation Prayer Ministry session more than any other emotion. For this reason, I found that I started having more successful TPM sessions when I started TPM-ing anger first. This approach has two significant benefits. One, it helps to determine how well a person is or is not hearing God’s voice, because anger typically gets in the way of us hearing God’s voice. Two, after a person learns how to successfully TPM anger, then it is much easier to TPM most other issues because anger is less likely to derail the process.

We will discuss the key lessons and tips that I found most helpful when I first learned the TPM process. We will also discuss why sometimes people who have a track record of hearing God’s voice during TPM sessions might suddenly struggle to hear God speak. In addition, we will discuss what to do when this happens.

In this Transformation Prayer Ministry training video, we will do three things. One, we will take a closer look at three biblical passages that talk about anger (see below). Two, out of these passages, we will develop what it means to forgive from the heart. Three, we will discuss how the Transformation Prayer Ministry process results in what Dr. Ed Smith calls effortless forgiveness.
